Too Slow TPs in Windows network with 2003 Server??

In the stations windows XP and in the Server is Windows server 2003


I know that it can be a problem of OpLocks, more I ask
the same system before worked very well in a network 
with windows xp in the more stations
with Server is Linux and SAMBA

don't performance problems because of the oplocks happen when SAMBA is used
with Linux Server ??

I've a client using Windows Server 2003 and all worsktations are XP (no Vista until at least a couple of years for them).

Clarion apps run fine on this environment. No complaints of speed at all, including the queries I made for them.

Can't compare Linux family as client has wisely chosen not to use them.
